Step into the boots of a WWII trainee pilot and discover what few ever get to experience. Our 1941 Boeing Stearman was built to prepare new pilots for combat, and now it’s your turn to feel the thrill of open-cockpit aerobatics.

Departing from Bunbury Airport — just two hours south of Perth — your adventure begins as you climb into the front cockpit of this iconic warbird, with your experienced pilot guiding you from the rear. Once airborne, get ready to hold on tight as the Stearman dives into a high-energy sequence of loops, rolls, wingovers, and heart-pounding maneuvers that push both machine and passenger to the limits of fun.

Every moment is tailored to your comfort level. Whether you’re chasing maximum adrenaline or prefer a lighter taste of aerobatics, we’ll adjust the routine to make it unforgettable. This is the ultimate adventure for thrill-seekers, milestone celebrations, or anyone wanting a story to tell for a lifetime.

The total experience lasts up to 35 minutes.

All flights depart from Bunbury Airport, located just two hours south of Perth in the heart of the South West.

Your experience begins the moment you arrive on the airfield - meet your pilot, take in the sights and sounds of vintage aviation, and prepare to step into Winnie for your adventure.

With easy access and a relaxed, open-airfield setting, it’s the perfect place to begin your journey back to the golden age of aviation. Full arrival details will be provided prior to your flight, and we recommend arriving a little early to soak up the atmosphere before takeoff.

As a vintage open-cockpit aircraft, Winnie is sensitive to wind and weather conditions.

We’ll always do our best to work around the weather and get you flying, while ensuring the best possible experience. Your flight will be carefully scheduled, with confirmation provided one week prior and again the day before your flight, along with your flight window.

If conditions aren’t suitable, we’ll simply reschedule - ensuring your experience is safe, comfortable, and truly unforgettable.

Once your flight package is purchased, simply get in touch with us to arrange your experience. We’ll work with you to find suitable dates and pencil in your booking.

As we operate around weather conditions, we recommend providing two preferred dates so we have flexibility when scheduling your flight.

We’ll keep you updated throughout the process and confirm your booking closer to the day, ensuring everything is aligned for the best possible experience.

At Open Air Adventure Flights, safety always comes first. Children are welcome to fly with us under the following conditions:

  • Minimum Age: 8 years old
  • Seatbelt & Fit: Children must pass the five-step seatbelt safety test.
  • Pilot Approval: The pilot must be satisfied with the child’s height and build to ensure they fit safely in the seatbelt system.
  • Legal Guardian Consent: A child’s legal guardian is required to sign a consent form before the child is allowed to fly alone.
