Children Flying with Open Air Adventure Flights
There's nothing quite like seeing a child's face light up after experiencing the magic of open-cockpit flying. At Open Air Adventure Flights, we're proud to introduce the next generation to the wonder of aviation while ensuring every flight is safe, comfortable and enjoyable.
Flying Requirements
Minimum Age: Children must be 8 years or older.
- Seatbelt Fit: Every child must successfully pass the Five-Step Seatbelt Safety Test.
- Pilot Approval: Our pilot must be satisfied that the child's height and build allow them to fit safely and comfortably within the aircraft's seatbelt system.
- Guardian Consent: A parent or legal guardian must complete and sign a consent form before a child is permitted to fly without them.
Still Have Questions?
Every child is different, and we're always happy to discuss whether Open Air Adventure Flights is the right fit for your young aviator.
If you have any questions about age, sizing, the seatbelt safety test, or what to expect on the day, please get in touch. We'd love to help.
The Five-Step Seatbelt Safety Test
-
To fly safely, your child must be able to:
-
1. Sit with their back comfortably against the seat.
-
2. Bend their knees naturally over the front edge of the seat.
-
3. Have the shoulder harness sit across the middle of their shoulder (not against their neck).
-
4. Have the lap belt positioned low across their hips and upper thighs (not across their stomach).
-
5. Remain seated comfortably in this position for the entire flight.
-
If your child meets all five requirements and guardian consent has been completed, they'll be ready to experience the unforgettable adventure of flying in Winnie!
