What started as a dream between Johan and Hayley has grown into something truly special here in Bunbury. Open Air Adventure Flights is now giving locals and visitors the opportunity to experience the golden age of aviation aboard Winnie, our beautifully restored 1941 Boeing Stearman.

While many people see the finished product — the vintage aircraft, the smiles on passengers' faces, and the stunning flights over Bunbury — what they don't always see is the incredible amount of work that went into making it all possible.

For Johan, this has been years in the making.

From purchasing Winnie and bringing her to Australia, to overseeing countless hours of restoration work, maintenance, paperwork, approvals, testing, and preparation, his dedication to preserving this piece of aviation history has been nothing short of remarkable.

Every detail matters when you're operating an 84-year-old aircraft, and Johan's commitment to safety, authenticity, and creating an unforgettable experience for passengers is at the heart of everything we do.

Now, passengers have the opportunity to sit in the front cockpit of this iconic Boeing Stearman while Johan flies from the rear cockpit, just as these aircraft were originally designed to operate. Wearing a leather flying helmet, goggles, and aviator jacket, guests are fully immersed in the experience from the moment they arrive.
